Sink or Swim 4 Part Series

4 Part Series
By Kenny Luck - 11/7/2012

As a "leader" your "ship" is carrying precious cargo—people. Some people board your ship for small spans of time but others have punched a ticket for a lifetime. Some will be taken far by your leadership and others could capsize and crash because of your character. Some may make the unwanted choice to simply abandon ship. It is an awesome responsibility. In this four-part series, men's expert and pastor Kenny Luck asks the tough questions every leader must consider. What kind of leadership are you providing for those around you? How are they fairing? What is your model of leadership? Are those on your "leader" ship getting to where they need to be?

Sink or Swim Part 1

All people need to be led but not all people are led the right way. This need puts people in great jeopardy when they need direction, defending, or help deciding what course of action will be best. In Part I men’s expert and pastor Kenny Luck looks at the model of leadership outlined in the famous Psalm 23 chapter of the Bible and makes application of the timeless principles for the modern man in his context. This model of leadership is the one championed by Jesus himself connecting the character of a leader to his personal connection to those he leads.

Sink or Swim Part 2

Leadership and pressure go hand in hand. Without pressure leaders don’t rise to the surface and without leaders others are crushed by the pressure. In Part II men’s expert and pastor Kenny Luck reveals the dynamic connection between pressure and leadership. Specifically, how your reaction and response to pressure can be fatal for those you lead or your finest hours. Big pressure produces bigger temptations for a leader. Leaders must see this battle of the soul and take steps to guard their hearts against self importance, self preservation, and self indulgence as a leader in order to avoid self destruction.

Sink or Swim Part 3

By Kenny Luck - 11/7/2012

Leadership styles are not formed in a vacuum. They come from modeling—cultural or personal. In Part III men’s expert and pastor Kenny Luck talks about how leadership “iron” sharpens iron. Specifically, how your friendships will fuel your leadership of others. In this session you will explore how every man needs a few really “good” men in his life who have permission to make him a better leader. Identify the six character qualities in another man that will serve to sharpen your own blade as a man and leader.

Sink or Swim Part 4

Talk is cheap. A leader’s “walk” is both the validator and resonator of his substance. In Part IV men’s expert and pastor Kenny Luck dives into the four “must-dos” of a leader in order to multiply his impact beyond himself. These insights flow from the simple and powerful life of Jesus. No other leader in history took 3 years and 12 twelve guys and turned it into a movement spanning 20 centuries.
